We are seeking a collaborative, organized, and efficient Associate Director of Family Support. In this position, you will assist in the planning, development, coordination, and management of the Family Support Program, which provides services to children and adults with I/DD and their families. Oversee and approve expenses that utilize state funding, provide information and referral, and provide home visits as needed. Must have the ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and have strong written and verbal communication skills. 40 hr/week position, some flexibility needed. Bachelor’s degree and relevant human services experience required. This is a supervisory position – experience is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include the following. Other duties may be assigned).

  • Responsible for the coordination and supervision of the Family Support flexible funding program.
  • Assist with the identification, scheduling, and facilitating of parent training and support groups.
  • Conduct home visits and/or outreach meetings in the community.
  • Participate in programming with children and adults, as needed.
  • Provide families with information and referral on various resources and state/federal benefits.
  • Ensures that the program provides flexible services and resources which are non-intrusive, cost-effective, and provided by qualified trained providers specific to individual and family needs and preferences.
  • Assist the Family Support Director in the planning, development, coordination, and management of the Family Support Program.
  • In the absence of the Director, assumes the Director’s duties.
  • Assists in the provision of emergency support as needed.
  • May be asked to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays on an as-needed basis.
  • Work closely with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) staff to identify and serve families promptly and efficiently.
  • Assess eligibility through the use of DDS guidelines and the needs of individuals and families referred.
  • Respond to these needs directly or make the appropriate referrals. If the family chooses to use their funding for goods and services, assist them as needed to obtain those goods and services.
  • Represent the agency at meetings with other local coordinators and the area and/or regional level.


  • Responsible for the supervision of Family Support Coordinators and Skills Instructors


  • A copy of a Covid-19 vaccination of two shots will be required
  • BA/BS in Human Services or related field.
  • Direct experience working with individuals diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Three years of full-time experience in Human Services.

All candidates must be able to successfully pass a CORI, reference, multi-state background, and driving record check.
